Easy Snowman Painted Rock Craft

These adorable little snowman painted rocks might just be the cutest winter craft we’ve ever made! And you don’t need any fancy supplies or artistic talent to make them. Just grab a few smooth, flat rocks, some craft paint, and acrylic paint pens, and you’re ready to turn ordinary rocks into the sweetest little snowmen.

This easy Christmas craft is such a fun project for kids of all ages, but don’t be surprised if the adults end up having just as much fun! This is a great family project to try over Christmas break when it’s too cold to play outside. Supplies Needed

Step 1For this project, smooth, flat rocks work best because they’re much easier to paint and decorate. If you’re gathering rocks from outside, give them a good wash to remove any dirt or debris, then let them dry completely. Next, apply at least two coats of white acrylic paint to create a nice, solid base. Be sure to let the paint dry between coats for the best results!

Step 2Once the white paint is completely dry, choose your favorite color for the snowman’s hat and paint the top portion of the rock to look like a cozy winter beanie. Aim to cover about the top third of the rock, but feel free to adjust the size and shape of the hat however you like!

Step 3If you’ve never tried acrylic paint pens, I highly recommend them. They’re easy to use, provide amazing coverage, and come in handy for so many different craft projects! Grab a few colors and give your snowman a cute little face with black coal eyes, a dotted smile, and an orange carrot nose. Then get creative with the hat! Add colorful stripes, polka dots, snowflakes, or any fun patterns you can dream up.

Step 4Time for the cutest finishing touch! Glue a fluffy pom-pom to the top of your snowman’s painted beanie hat. The soft, fuzzy pom-pom adds a fun detail that gives your little snowman a warm, cozy look that’s such a cute contrast to the hard rock.
