Supplies needed to make constructions paper trees with 3D leaves.

How To Make Awesome Construction Paper Trees

Step 1. Begin by cutting long strips of blue and green construction paper. Trim one edge of each strip with a wavy pattern to give it a fun, whimsical look. Glue the strips onto a sheet of white construction paper just like the example below to create your background. Next, cut several strips of brown paper in different lengths and arrange them into the shape of a tree trunk and branches before gluing them in place.

Step 2. Cut several 1-inch-wide strips of green construction paper about 3 inches long. Fold each strip into a loop and secure the ends together with a small piece of tape. Once you’ve made plenty of loops, use glue to attach them to the tree branches. These fun little loops become the tree’s 3D leaves, making your craft pop right off the page!

Step 3. Now it’s time to make your tree bloom with beautiful flowers! Grab a few colorful sheets of construction paper—pink, purple, blue, or any colors you love—and cut out several large circles for the flower petals. Then cut smaller circles from yellow paper and glue one in the center of each flower.
