This is what I use! Ohuhu Alcohol Markers (with the brush & fine tip). They are exceptional for blending and shading and very popular for adult coloring. I’m kind of addicted. These black pens (10 point size). Acrylic paint or gel white pens for adding highlights.

If you really want to take your artwork to the next level, you’ve go to try alcohol markers! With a few simple techniques and the tips and tricks I’ve included below, you can create some seriously impressive designs with gorgeous colors, highlights, and dimension. You might be surprised by just how professional a simple coloring page can look! Print out a few extras, experiment with different styles, and have fun turning these ordinary fall shapes into one-of-a-kind works of art.
How To Make A Stained Glass Pumpkin
It’s not fall without pumpkins everywhere! This free printable mosaic design is fun to color with all of its small sections that can be customized with a variety of unique colors and designs.

Step 1This step is completely optional, but it really brings out that beautiful mosaic or stained glass look. Simply use a black pen to round off the corners of each section, then fill in the small spaces you’ve created with black ink (like shown below).

Step 2Now for the fun part—choosing your colors! Fill in each section with a different shade. I went with traditional fall colors for mine, but feel free to get creative and experiment with unexpected color combinations. As you can see, the alcohol markers blend really well without leaving lines or streaks. I actually used four different colors for the stem, blending from dark to light.

Step 3Want to give your pumpkin a little extra dimension? Choose a color that’s a few shades darker than your original and add some shadows to each section. I’m definitely no shading expert, so I just add them wherever I think they look good. This simple trick creates a cool 3D effect that takes your design from flat to fabulous.

Step 4Time to break out that white pen! Just a few little highlights in each section create a beautiful glossy effect that makes your artwork look like real stained glass. Seriously, look at the difference! This tiny detail makes such a big impact, so don’t skip it. I’m certainly no expert at placing highlights, but I’ve found that adding a few white shimmer lines along the lighter edges of each section, opposite your darker shading, gives the best results.

And there you have it! A simple pumpkin coloring page that can turn into a pretty impressive little masterpiece. And, you don’t need to be an artist to make something beautiful! Even small children can enjoy this easy art project. Whether you’re using markers or crayons, the magic is in coloring each little section differently. Mix and match colors, experiment with fun patterns, and see what happens! It’s a relaxing fall coloring page for all ages, and you might just surprise yourself with how awesome it turns out.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time experimenting with these markers, from adult coloring books to my own hand-drawn doodles, and I’ve picked up a few helpful tricks along the way! Be sure to check out my helpful tips section at the end of this post.

Easy Fall Leaf Mosaic
Now, onto the fall leaf coloring page! I took a slightly different approach with this one, filling the sections with fun patterns, doodles, and unique designs to give you a little inspiration. I’ve included a few step-by-step photos below so you can see how it all comes together.

Step 1Adding a few black-and-white doodles creates a fun contrast against the colorful sections. I started by filling in a handful of sections with playful patterns and designs before adding any color. Get creative with everything from simple polka dots and stripes to cute little hand-drawn doodles.

Step 2Fill in each section with your favorite shades, using as many or as few colors as you like. You can stick with a handful of coordinating colors for a pretty, polished look or go wild with several colors.

Step 3Want to create those cute little circles that look like rocks or pebbles? They’re easier than you think! Simply draw circles of different sizes inside a section, then use your black pen to fill in the empty spaces around them, as shown below. Add a little shading to one side of each circle and a white highlight to the opposite side to give them a cool 3D effect. Make them big, small, or a mixture of both!

Step 4The swirls are just as easy! Using my black pen, I drew fun little lollipop-shaped spirals, letting a few overlap for a more interesting design. Then, I simply filled in the empty spaces around the swirls with black ink to make them really stand out.

Step 5For the remaining sections, I kept things pretty simple with a mix of solid colors, playful stripes, and polka dots. I also added shadows and highlights at the end for the finishing touch. And that’s it! There’s something so relaxing and satisfying about decorating each little section differently. It’s fun to experiment as you go, and watching all those unique patterns and colors come together is the best part!

And just like that, a simple piece of paper and a handful of markers can turn into a colorful little work of art! There’s something oddly satisfying about filling in all those tiny sections, especially when you get to make each one completely different.

Helpful Tips
- Alcohol markers can bleed through paper, so be sure to use thicker paper and protect your work surface with an extra piece of cardstock underneath.
- Alcohol markers blend beautifully, making it easy to create soft shadows and pretty color gradients! For smoother shading, simply go over the edge of your darker color with a lighter shade to soften the transition and blend the colors together.
- My favorite black pens come in several tip sizes. I use size 10 the most, but thinner and thicker tips are available if you get hooked on doodling like me!
- The Ohuhu Makers come in several different options as well, from a small 48-color pack to a large 320-color pack. I have the large pack because I got a little bit obsessed! I also prefer the brush & fine tip combo for this kind of coloring.
