Some people see an empty toilet paper roll and toss it in the trash. Me? I see five minutes of peace and a craft that keeps the kids busy! Before you recycle those cardboard tubes, turn them into these adorable little bunnies instead. With a little paint, a few simple supplies you already have at home, and minimal effort, you’ll have a fun project that’s easy enough for little hands and cute enough to display long after the paint dries.

Supplies Needed
- Empty Toilet Paper Rolls
- Pencil or marker
- Scissors & glue
- Paint
- Cotton Balls

Instructions
This is one of those ridiculously easy crafts that’ll have you wondering why you didn’t make it sooner. Follow the step-by-step photos below, and you’ll have a cute little bunny ready to hop into your spring decor or your kids’ next craft session in no time.
- Grab an empty toilet paper roll and gently flatten it. You don’t want to try and wrestle with a rolling cardboard tube!
- Using a pencil or marker, sketch the outline of your bunny just like the example below. Give it a round little body, a cute pointy nose, and tiny arms and feet. Don’t worry about making it perfect—every bunny has its own personality!
- Keeping the toilet paper roll flattened, carefully cut out the bunny shape with scissors. Since the roll is folded, you’ll cut both sides at the same time, giving you a matching bunny shape.
- Don’t toss those leftover scraps! Cut out two bunny ears from the extra cardboard and glue or tape them to the inside of your bunny’s head so they stick up.
- Now comes the fun part! Use a little paint to add fluffy fur, rosy cheeks, eyes, and whiskers. A small amount of paint is all you need. Finish your bunny by gluing a cotton ball onto its back for the cutest fluffy tail. It’s the little details that make these bunnies impossible not to love.

Because of the natural shape of the toilet paper rolls, these adorable bunnies stand up all on their own! They’re perfect for adding a touch of spring or Easter charm to your mantel, table, bookshelf, or anywhere that could use a little bunny magic.

Take this recycled craft one step further by turning those leftover toilet paper roll scraps into a tiny carrot for your bunny to hold! Simply cut out a small carrot shape, draw on some details, and glue it onto your bunny’s paws for a playful finishing touch. It’s a fun way to use every last piece of cardboard instead of tossing it in the trash.

One of the best things about this craft is that it’s inexpensive, eco-friendly, and made almost entirely from recycled materials you probably already have at home. Kids can create their own unique bunny while practicing cutting, painting, and fine motor skills. It’s also the most precious spring activity or rainy-day project for kids of all ages!
