How To Make Recycled Cardboard Hedgehogs
Supplies Needed
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Marker
- Glue (hot glue or liquid glue)
- Pine needles or colorful leaves

Step 1 Start by cutting a semicircle from a piece of cardboard. It can be as big or as small as you’d like. Next, use a marker to draw a little pointed nose on one side to create your hedgehog’s adorable face.

Step 2 Carefully cut along the line you drew to shape your hedgehog’s face. Then bring your new woodland friend to life by using a marker to add a tiny nose, a happy smile, and a cute little eye. Just like that, your hedgehog already has loads of personality!

Step 3 Spread a line of glue across the back and gently press on a row of pine needles (or leaves if that’s what you found). Keep adding more glue and layers of pine needles until your hedgehog is nice and fluffy from head to tail.

Step 4 Once the glue has dried completely, your adorable little hedgehog is ready for all kinds of adventures! Add it to a fairy garden, use it as a decoration, or let the kids use it during imaginative play.

Helpful Tips
- No pine needles? No problem! Get creative with whatever nature has to offer. Head outside and gather leaves, tiny twigs, grass, flower petals, or anything else your little explorer can find to give your hedgehog its spiky coat.
- Don’t want to go explore outside? You could also use colorful constructions paper, tissue paper, pompoms, or other various craft supplies.
- Want to make your woodland friend even more adorable? Glue on a googly eye for an extra dose of personality!
- The best part about this craft is that you can make it again and again. Simply cut different-sized semicircles for the bodies, and before you know it you’ll have an entire family of adorable hedgehogs ready for their next backyard adventure!
