These pretty DIY snowflake ornaments are such a fun and easy Christmas craft for kids! If you buy the already colored craft sticks, there’s hardly any mess to clean up, either. Simply hot glue the sticks together into a snowflake shape, decorate with sparkly rhinestone stickers, and add a little twine for hanging. That’s it! You’ve got gorgeous homemade ornaments your kids will be proud to hang all over the Christmas tree.

Supplies Needed
- colorful popsicle sticks (like these)
- hot glue gun
- twine or ribbon (for hanging)
- rhinestone stickers
- Any other craft supplies you’d like to decorate with! Glitter, paint, pom-poms, buttons, mini foam shapes, sequins, etc.

Once you’ve gathered your supplies, this pretty Christmas craft couldn’t be easier. Don’t have colorful popsicle sticks? No problem! If you’ve already got a drawer full of plain craft sticks, just give them a quick coat of paint. Even a simple natural colored snowflake would look beautiful hanging on the Christmas tree, especially if it’s covered in rhinestones or glitter.

How To Make Popsicle Stick Snowflake Ornaments
- Start by hot gluing two popsicle sticks together to form a plus sign (+). Then glue two more sticks diagonally across the center to create an eight-point snowflake, just like shown above.
- Now for the fun part! Decorate your snowflake with sparkly rhinestone stickers, placing them along each popsicle stick however you like. You can also get creative with glitter glue, sequins, tiny pom-poms, pearl stickers, or even colorful buttons.
- Cut a piece of jute twine about 6–8 inches long and fold it in half to create a loop. Flip your snowflake over and use a small dab of hot glue to attach both loose ends of the twine to the back of one of the top popsicle sticks.
- That’s it! Your beautiful homemade snowflake ornament is ready to hang on the Christmas tree. Make a whole bunch in different colors and designs for a fun collection of sparkly snowflakes!

What we love most about this easy Christmas craft is how much fun you can have making each snowflake your own. Mix and match different colors and decorations to create a whole collection of unique ornaments. We especially like how the lighter colors stand out against the green Christmas tree. Even simple white craft sticks would look beautiful and give the ornaments a more realistic, snowy look!
