If you’re looking for the perfect healthy treat, then look no further! These delicious easy, no-bake treats are a fun and colorful snack your kids are going to LOVE!
Frozen banana yogurt pops are a healthy snack for kids. Naturally sweet and full of potassium, fiber, antioxidants and Vitamin C, bananas are a great produce option to use when making children snacks. Dip them in some greek yogurt, which adds both protein and calcium, and sprinkle with fun colorful toppings and these little pops make for the perfect healthy treat!
One of my favorite things to do with the kids is spend time in the kitchen baking and cooking. This is a no-bake recipe activity so it makes it A LOT easier when their cute little hands are helping. From peeling the bananas to sprinkling on the toppings, kids will love to help you make these tasty frozen pops. I love seeing the excitement in their sweet faces as they create their own food. Specifically with my kids, the more they help in the kitchen the more they eat (WINNING)!
Bananas in our house are either eaten up in two days or they sit for a while and go bad. This simple recipe is not only a yummy tasty snack but it will also save you from having to throw out those bananas that have been sitting on the counter all week. You can make them ahead of time, store them in the freezer, and then pull them out when you’re needing to satisfy that sweet tooth craving.
How to Make Frozen Banana Yogurt Bites
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
- Cut the bananas in half and peel.
- Insert a popsicle stick into the center of the cut banana.
- Dip the banana into the yogurt. I used a butter knife to help cover the whole banana.
- Sprinkle the bananas with the toppings of your choice. The kids chose rainbow sprinkles and I chose crushed peanuts. You may want to place a bowl under the banana while you sprinkle to save yourself a mess to clean up.
- After dipping, place the decorated banana onto the baking sheet you prepared earlier.
- Place the sheet with bananas in the freezer until frozen (2 Hours is usually good) now ENJOY! You can also store them in a freezer safe bag or container until you’re ready for a cold snack.
At first I started making these for my older kids and then as I watched my teething 8 month old drool, watching her brothers eat their pops, I thought “HEY! She would probably love the cold pop on her gums.” So I made one for her using plain greek yogurt. Just as I thought she couldn’t get enough of it!! So if you have a little teether give these a try (just be sure to remove the popsicle stick as the pop starts to melt).
