What Supplies You Need
- Cardboard (you can use old amazon boxes, cereal boxes or even these cardboard sheets)
- Scissors
- Marker

How To Make Cardboard Nature Butterfly Cutouts
Grab some cardboard and cut a square about 9 inches by 7 inches. Draw a butterfly on the cardboard including wings, a body, and antennas. Next, use a sharp pair of scissors or an Xacto knife to cut out the inside of the wings. Now you’re ready to head outside and find the best flowers for your butterfly wings.
Make It A Game!
Why not make a game with these recycled butterflies. Try seeing how many different types of flowers your kids can find for the butterfly wings. Or count the different colors you find in nature. Find orange flowers to make a Monarch butterfly, blue flowers for a Blue Morpho butterfly, or pink flowers for a Pink Cattleheart butterfly.
