Instructions
Gather Your Ingredients
Each turkey cookie will need:
- 1 Oreo Cookie
- 1 Mini Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup
- 5 Pieces of Candy Corn
- 2 Candy Eyes
- 1 Red, Orange, Yellow, or Brown Reece’s Pieces or M&M
- Black Decorating Icing
Add The Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup
Add a small dot of black decorating icing to the bottom center of the Oreo cookie. Stick the mini peanut butter cup to the icing. This is the turkey’s face!
Time For The Feathers
Spread some icing on the top part of your Oreo cookie around the peanut butter cup. Add 5 candy corns to the cookie to look like feather with the smaller points toward the peanut butter cup.
Make The Turkey Cute
Now it’s time to give the turkey a face! Take a red, orange, yellow, or brown Reece’s Pieces and cut it in half. This will be the beak.
Add 3 dots of black icing to the peanut butter cup – 2 dots for the eyes and 1 dot for the turkey beak. Carefully add the candy eyes and 1/2 of a Reece’s Pieces to the mini peanut butter cup to create the face.
Repeat For All Oreos
Now that your Oreo Thanksgiving Turkey Treat is complete, you can repeat this process as many times as you like! I made about a dozen the 1st time around and they went pretty fast! This fun Thanksgiving recipe is sure to be gobbled up in a jiffy.
Helpful Tips
- This recipe can be made with really any cookie that you like. I like Oreos because they are dark brown like an actual turkey but you could use any cookie like chocolate chip or fudge striped cookies!
- For this recipe, I used black decorating icing and added it to a piping bag with a Wilton #3 decorating tip. But if you don’t have these supplies, you can always use chocolate frosting or even melted chocolate to attach the feathers, eyes, and nose.
- I like to make these yummy turkey cookies the day of my event to keep them extra fresh. You can also make the day before and store in an airtight container.
- Store these Thanksgiving Oreo Turkey Treats in an airtight container for up to 3 days. The icing can make the Oreos a bit soggy after the 1st day, so it’s better to eat them all in one sitting 🤪.
There is nothing better than baking with your kids and this easy Thanksgiving recipe is perfect for kids of all ages. With a few common ingredients that you may already have at home, you can make the cutest Oreo Turkey cookies ever. Enjoy them after Thanksgiving dinner, as a fun Fall snack, or any time you need a sweet treat this holiday season.
